SQL Database Analyst
Location: Camp Smith, HI (Onsite)
Rate $72/hr on W2
Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance (Must be eligible to obtain Top Secret/SCI)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Analyst to support the US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) program at Camp Smith, HI. This role is responsible for administering, maintaining, securing, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server environments supporting mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) intelligence systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong SQL Server administration experience, expertise in Windows Server environments, PowerShell scripting, database security, high availability, and enterprise infrastructure support.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Design and implement enterprise database architectures supporting mission requirements.
- Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot SQL Server databases and clusters.
- Implement and support SQL Server High Availability solutions including AlwaysOn Availability Groups and Failover Clustering.
- Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and maintain database security compliance.
- Perform database performance tuning, optimization, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate database administration tasks.
- Create and maintain system architecture documentation, technical diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to align database solutions with enterprise architecture strategies.
- Evaluate workflows and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
- Develop and execute testing strategies to validate database implementations.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues in production environments.
- Participate in infrastructure modernization and special projects.
- Support after-hours maintenance activities when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of overall IT experience.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on SQL Server Administration experience.
- Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server 2014, 2016, 2017, and/or 2019.
- Strong experience with Windows Server Operating Systems.
- Experience managing enterprise SQL database environments.
- Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI.
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups.
- Experience implementing Failover Clustering and High Availability solutions.
- Strong PowerShell scripting experience.
- SQL Server certifications.
- Experience with enterprise virtual infrastructure.
