Essential Functions:
- Supervises, directs, assists, and performs the operation and maintenance for the water Distribution System and related facilities.
- Prepares the daily schedule by prioritizing work orders and assigning them to appropriate staff.
- Provides assistance to contractors and local utilities as needed.
- Assists in responding to client, customer, or agency complaints or inquiries; recommends improvements to eliminate problems.
- Performs inspections on Distribution System operations and activities including equipment, maintenance, and safety related issues; recommends replacements and specifications for new equipment; orders materials & equipment within appropriate authority.
- Supervises or performs prevention programs and maintains related records.
- Communicates with client, staff, customers, contractors/developers, and employees regarding customer service requests, complaints, or general inquiries.
- Participates in related professional association activities; stays knowledgeable of new developments in materials, equipment, and processes to ensure effective and efficient operation of the systems.
- Assures proper safety standards and precautions are followed and that all safety equipment is available and in good working condition according to company policy and equipment manual.
- Prepares reports and maintains records to meet federal, state, local, and company requirements.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain in good standing
- Possess or ability to obtain and maintain water certifications
Knowledge, skills, and ability
- Knowledge of proper and effective practices, methods, and procedures related to water and wastewater system maintenance and construction.
- Knowledge of state and federal standards and regulations governing water facilities and systems. Knowledge of basic principles of mechanical and hydraulic theory.
- Knowledge of safety standards and precautions pertaining to the use and operation of motorized equipment and hand/power tools.
- Knowledge of effective supervisory practices and techniques.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and evaluate the work of staff.
- Ability to keep records and prepare reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with employees, clients, and vendors.
- Ability to resolve problems in stressful conditions using sound judgment.
- Ability to operate computers and related programs.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laboratory and statistical data.
- Ability on a daily basis to:
- Work in all weather conditions; walk across rough terrain.
- Ability to move, lift, manipulate equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Work in confined spaces.
- Climb stairs and vertical ladders.
- Sustain lengthy periods of driving a motor vehicle and standing in place.
Salary : $25 - $27
