Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our project coordinators and field staff, ensuring seamless execution of all jobs in commercial relocation, storage, and furniture installation. This role is critical for maintaining high standards of service, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. The position is based at our Newark, NJ facility and reports directly to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, including dispatching, routing, and scheduling of field teams (movers, installers, and drivers) to optimize efficiency and meet client deadlines.
- Manage and mentor project coordinators and field staff, providing guidance, performance feedback, and training to foster a positive and productive team environment.
- Coordinate with warehouse, customer service, and sales teams to resolve issues, handle escalations, and improve processes for smooth job execution.
- Monitor job performance metrics, such as on-time completion and customer satisfaction, and implement improvements as needed.
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and staffing decisions to build a reliable team.
- Handle inventory management, equipment maintenance, and resource allocation for storage and installation projects.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism among all staff.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the moving, storage, or relocation industry.
- Proven track record in team leadership, dispatching, and logistical coordination.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific software (e.g., for scheduling and inventory).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, in a dynamic environment.
