Position Summary:
- We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Technical Consultant with deep expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) to design, implement, and optimize enterprise virtual desktop environments.
- In this role, you will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for AVD, driving technical strategy, ensuring high performance, and delivering secure, scalable, and cost-efficient virtual workspace solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT infrastructure with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and optimize AVD solutions tailored to client requirements
- Provide expert guidance on AVD architecture, configuration, and best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) issues
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Conduct infrastructure assessments and recommend improvements
- Maintain cloud infrastructure performance and uptime (SLA compliance)
- Monitor environments, manage alerts, and optimize system performance
- Provide proactive support and continuous improvement for client tenants
- Implement and support enterprise IT infrastructure solutions
- Deliver post-implementation support and remote technical assistance
- Track and resolve incidents via helpdesk/ticketing systems
- Ensure timely completion of tasks, documentation, and reports
- Participate in on-call rotations as escalation point for AVD/VDI issues
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
- Solid knowledge of VDI environments, cloud infrastructure, and virtualization
- Experience with Microsoft Azure services (compute, networking, storage, identity, security)
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Strong communication and client-facing abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with monitoring, reporting, and performance tuning tools
- Strong documentation and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (Azure / AVD)
- Experience in enterprise IT infrastructure and cloud migrations
- Exposure to automation and scripting (PowerShell preferred)
Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Houston, TX 77060
