Job Summary
The Shop Coordinator is responsible for supporting production operations by coordinating job documentation, scheduling activities, material availability, and communication between departments. This role helps ensure production workflows remain organized, efficient, and aligned with operational timelines and company standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and distribute production packets from the Detailing Group to the appropriate departments.
- Coordinate with production leadership regarding scheduling priorities and workflow planning.
- Prepare and coordinate nest files for the plasma table, flange plate, and punch departments.
- Monitor material availability for upcoming jobs and communicate material needs as necessary.
- Assist with tracking production tonnage and maintaining job status reporting.
- Maintain and distribute current production drawings while managing revision control.
- Verify material requirements based on inventory levels and production demands.
- Review coil material availability and assist with pre-deduction processes to support inventory accuracy.
- Assist with production scheduling adjustments to support workload balancing and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate material orders as needed to support production requirements.
- Maintain and update production schedules for multiple departments.
- Verify tonnage reporting accuracy and assist with production reporting activities.
- Support inventory-related functions, including cycle counts and audits.
- Review reports related to production and job cost tracking.
- Create and submit purchase orders (POs) in accordance with company purchasing procedures.
- Assist with purchasing activities by coordinating material needs, vendor communication, and order tracking.
- Program production machines and coordinate upcoming jobs to support scheduling and operational efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of manufacturing or production processes is preferred.
- Ability to analyze information and support operational decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel; experience with AutoCAD or similar software preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner through meetings, email, phone calls, and other business communications.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
