What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Bundler 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift position at Alliance Staffing Group?
Job Summary
Responsible for assisting operators with basic set-up functions and for checking product to ensure highest level of quality. This position is the first level in a three-step career progression on the Lithoman Press, a four-step career progression on the Sunday Press, and a two-step career progression on the Timson Press. When adequately trained and a second level position opens, progression to next level will be offered and may require a shift change.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Monitor Assist in set-up of folder, stacker, and sheeter.
- Uniformly bundle folded book signatures and stack banded and loose signatures on pallet using the hoist when available.
- Ensure pallet, banding, and other supply materials are stocked; notify necessary personnel of shortages.
- Perform minor machine adjustments and assist in web up of press when necessary.
- Assist in make-ready including wiping down blankets, changing ink, and performing clean up on and around press. Assist as needed in mounting plates/blankets and perform maintenance on press equipment.
- Responsible for cleaning and general housekeeping in department.
- Grease, oil, and maintain press equipment as scheduled or required.
- Foster the continual use and implementation of philosophies and tools that are taught at Sheridan while promoting the concept of working together as a team and with other departments to building continuous improvement
- Train to perform next level position to effectively cover absences and breaks as well as to be sufficiently prepared for job progression.
- Continually identify, develop, and implement improvements in work processes.
- Consistently and effectively serve as a positive role model
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants, and chemicals. Position requires ability to move with ease in the production area; remain in stationary position for prolonged periods of time on concrete/hard surface; use hands and fingers constantly for handling, gripping, and manipulating product; constantly position oneself to complete work including bending, twisting, rotating, and reaching; and move product weighing up to 100 pounds.
Pay: $16.00 per hour
