Integrations Project Manager

Reports to: Product and Engineering Leadership

Employment Type: Full-time

Location: On-site | The Woodlands, TX

Position Overview

AllianceHCM is seeking a technically savvy, client-facing Integrations Project Manager to lead the development and management of our integration ecosystem. In this role, you will act as the bridge between our clients' technical requirements and our platforms capabilities. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining seamless data flows between AllianceHCM and external third-party systems, ensuring our clients maximize the value of our HR technology suite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Technical Consulting – Lead technical discovery sessions with third-party vendors to understand their tech stack and implement custom integration workflows that meet our business needs.
  • Integration Development – Hands-on configuration and development of integrations using APIs, webhooks, and middleware tools to connect AllianceHCM with external platforms.
  • Project Ownership – Manage the full integration lifecycle from initial scoping and requirement gathering to testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
  • Technical Liaison – Act as the primary point of contact between client IT teams and our internal engineering and product departments to resolve complex technical blockers.
  • Documentation Mapping – Create and maintain detailed field mapping documents, API documentation, and standardized integration playbooks for internal and external use.
  • Ecosystem Maintenance – Proactively monitor the health of active integrations, troubleshoot data discrepancies, and manage version updates for third-party API changes.
  • Data Integrity – Use SQL and data analysis tools to validate that data is flowing accurately and securely between systems.
  • Process Optimization – Identify opportunities to automate manual data transfers and improve our internal integration deployment speed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or a related field.
  • Technical Proficiency – Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, Webhooks, and authentication protocols (OAuth2, API Keys).
  • Client Facing Experience – Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and professionally.
  • Analytical Problem Solving – Experience in troubleshooting data synchronization issues and mapping complex logic between disparate systems.
  • Organization – Ability to manage multiple high-priority integration projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Collaboration – Experience working closely with software developers, QA engineers, and customer success teams.

Nice to Have

  • SQL Mastery – Proficiency in writing SQL queries to analyze and validate large datasets.
  • Middleware Experience – Familiarity with iPaaS tools (e.g., Zapier, Workato, Tray.io, or Boomi).
  • HCM Knowledge – Prior experience with Human Capital Management (HCM), payroll systems, or benefits administration technology.
  • SFTP/Flat Files – Experience managing legacy integration methods like SFTP and fixed-width/CSV file transfers.
  • Salesforce Integration – Experience connecting platforms with Salesforce via API or native connectors.
