Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Physician Extender role located in multiple locations across NJ. The Physician Extender will collaborate closely with orthopedic specialists to provide patient care, support treatment plans, and assist with surgical preparations and follow-ups. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, obtaining medical histories, maintaining accurate documentation, and educating patients about treatment options. The role involves assisting in procedures, managing pre-operative and post-operative care, and ensuring effective communication between healthcare teams and patients.
Qualifications
- Expertise in patient assessment, medical history taking, and clinical evaluations.
- Knowledge of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, as well as experience supporting treatment plans and assisting in surgical procedures.
- Strong documentation, record-keeping, and organizational skills for maintaining accurate patient files and medical histories.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to educate patients, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and provide compassionate care.
- Relevant certifications or licensing as required by New Jersey for Physician Extenders (e.g., BOC certified and AT state licensure).
- Prior experience in orthopedics or sports medicine is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training.
