AMC Electrical is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Site Safety Coordinator to support our Construction Managers and field teams in maintaining safe, compliant, and productive project sites. The Safety Coordinator will monitor field activities, identify hazards, support compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and client-specific safety programs, and provide guidance to Construction Managers, Foremen, subcontractors, and field personnel. This is a working safety position; when safety responsibilities do not require full-time attention, the Safety Coordinator is expected to actively support the field crew with general construction labor and electrical installation activities appropriate to their training, qualifications, and applicable licensing requirements.
Safety Responsibilities
- Support implementation of project-specific safety plans, company health and safety policies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety observations, and hazard assessments to identify and mitigate workplace risks.
- Review and support Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), permits, and other safety documentation.
- Monitor construction activities and provide guidance on safe work practices and hazard controls.
- Lead incident, injury, and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Prepare and maintain safety reports, records, metrics, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate site safety orientations, onboarding, training, and competency tracking for employees, visitors, and subcontractors.
- Verify subcontractor compliance with safety requirements, training certifications, PPE standards, and specific site rules.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, briefings, and ongoing safety awareness initiatives.
- Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, client site visits, and emergency preparedness activities.
- Collaborate with Construction Managers, Project Coordinators, subcontractors, and field personnel to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Identify trends, recurring risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement in safety performance and incident prevention
General Construction Responsibilities
- Assist with material handling, staging, receiving, organization, and site cleanup.
- Perform general construction labor, including measuring, drilling, fastening, assembly, and installation preparation.
- Assist with electrical installation, including cable pulling, cable tray, conduit, supports, and equipment installation.
- Assist with pre-fabrication, material preparation, labeling, and assembly.
- Operate hand/power tools, MEWPs, forklifts, and other equipment when trained and authorized.
- Perform other construction and field-support duties as assigned, within the employee’s training, qualifications, and licensing requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- 3 years of industrial construction safety experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA and applicable construction safety regulations.
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems.
- Ability to work independently in active construction environments.
Preferred
- Diploma, certificate, or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Experience working with commercial, industrial, or multi-site construction projects.
- Experience supporting subcontractor compliance programs.
