We are seeking a Spanish-speaking bilingual Mental Health Counselor to provide services in our Domestic Violence Batterers Intervention Program (BIP), Anger Management, and Parenting Education programs. AMHS specializes in court-ordered and community-based behavioral health treatment for adults involved with the criminal justice system.
This is a hybrid position offering both in-office and work-from-home flexibility. The role begins as part-time with the strong potential to move into full-time hours based on performance and program needs. Evening availability (at least two evenings per week) and occasional Saturday mornings are required.
Duties
- Facilitate individual and group sessions for clients enrolled in Domestic Violence BIP, Anger Management, and Parenting Education programs.
- Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans tailored to client needs and court or referral requirements.
- Provide crisis support as needed while maintaining a safe environment for clients and staff.
- Complete accurate, timely documentation of client progress and session notes in accordance with agency and confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate with case managers, probation officers, and other treatment team members to support client success.
- Participate in clinical supervision and required trainings to support professional growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, human services, or a closely related field.
- Some prior experience providing behavioral health counseling or facilitating groups (internship or work experience accepted).
- Fluent bilingual Spanish and English (spoken and written) required.
- Comfortable working with court-ordered and justice-involved adults.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work hybrid (in-office and remote) and maintain consistent evening availability.
- Commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.
