POSTED ON 10/9/2026

Your mission

Keep every production line humming by orchestrating the precise movement of parts and finished goods—safely, accurately, and on time. As the Union Shop Kitting Logistics Supervisor, you’ll be the go-to leader for your zone on 2nd shift (3:00 pm – 1:00 am), on-site in Ripon, WI, aligning production, warehousing, and supply chain to eliminate material-related downtime.

Lead the team
  • Supervision in a union setting: Guide material handlers and kitting staff—plan schedules, train teammates, manage performance, and resolve workplace issues. Ensure timely delivery of items to production lines to minimize disruptions.
  • Constructive labor relations: Comply with union agreements and regulations; address concerns and partner with union representatives to sustain a positive workplace.
  • Clear communication channels: Act as liaison among production teams, warehouse staff, and buyers to tackle material issues and set expectations. Coordinate with buyers and warehouse to return and replace defective goods.
  • Accountability and visibility: Build and analyze reports on delivery times and inventory levels to guide decisions. Maintain accurate records for time, attendance, vacation, and coverage.
Orchestrate the floor
  • End-to-end kitting: Coordinate daily kitting operations—distribution, inventory control, and fulfillment. Oversee movement of materials and finished goods across the Ripon shop floor and collaborate with Manitowoc, ensuring correct routing of finished products.
  • Inventory control: Monitor floor stock, replenish proactively, and sync with warehouse teams to prevent shortages. Perform audits and verify materials against production schedules, sequences, department orders, and related documentation.
  • Safety-first handling: Direct safe loading/unloading practices and manage adherence to all safety protocols.
  • Issues, resolved: Proactively address transportation and supply chain problems (delays, damages, discrepancies). Track staff performance versus organizational objectives.
  • Continuous improvement mindset: Assess kitting processes to lift efficiency, reduce waste, and meet production goals; implement procedural improvements as needed.
  • Administrative stewardship: Approve union team members’ time and vacation requests. Ensure all required safety, team leader, and compliance trainings are current.
What you’ll need
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree/certification in leadership management or related field is beneficial. 2–3 years of experience preferred.
  • Experience: Production or warehouse management background with supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities; effective in a hands-on, fast-moving environment.
  • Knowledge: Shop-floor operations, material handling equipment, safety standards, and union regulations/agreements.
Working conditions
  • Environment: On the manufacturing floor across a broad footprint; exposure to noise and temperature variations; regular physical activity such as lifting and moving materials.
  • Hours: Full-time 2nd shift (3:00 pm – 1:00 am) with occasional overtime or weekend work based on business needs.
