Electromechanical Laundry Service Specialist

Keep essential laundry operations running for hospitals, fitness centers, motels, and more. As a Service Technician with Alliance Laundry Systems Distribution, you’ll be the on‑site expert who restores equipment, earns customer trust, and strengthens long‑term partnerships across the Northern Birmingham, AL territory.

Your impact

• Own the diagnosis and repair of commercial washers, dryers, ironers, and related systems (OPL and Vended)
• Install replacement parts and perform calibrations/adjustments to meet manufacturer specs
• Close service tickets with precise documentation of labor, parts, materials, and outcomes
• Capture travel details accurately, including mileage and fuel purchases
• Be the face of service—explain issues and solutions clearly to customers
• Coordinate with the service manager, parts team, and vendors to keep jobs moving
• Uphold care and maintenance standards for company‑supplied tools, test gear, and service vehicle
• Support installation teams with equipment installations and deliveries as scheduled
• Pitch in on additional tasks that enhance department efficiency

Travel and territory

• Substantial travel within the assigned service territory (Northern Birmingham, AL)
• Occasional overnight travel for special projects

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of mechanical repair experience; commercial laundry experience preferred but not required (or equivalent education/training/experience)
• Working knowledge of electrical testing instruments and diagnostic/programming tools
• Experience using phone/email ticketing systems for customer support (preferred)
• Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel (preferred)

Physical demands and conditions

• Regular sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, stooping, bending, climbing, and fine motor work
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.; assistive devices provided for heavier items
• Frequent talking/hearing; extensive hand use for tools and controls; computer‑based work with periods of sitting; requires close vision and focus adjustment
• Valid driver’s license and clean MVR required; a company vehicle may be provided
