PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and/ or Maintenance Lead, the Maintenance Technician performs duties to repair and maintain machinery, equipment, building and facilities requiring a broad knowledge of maintenance. skills including mechanical repair, plumbing, welding, pneumatics, hydraulics, carpentry and electrical repair to include control wiring, 110 volt, 220 volt, and 480 volt three phase power.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform machine repair and preventative maintenance
- Custom fabrication and welding
- Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties; make repairs and adjustments as needed
- Regularly inspect plant for safety
- Maintain current with forklift license, required safety training and other training as required
- Perform forklift and equipment PMs
- Must have own tools
- Repair and maintain large pumping systems, and large trolley conveyor systems
- Troubleshooting electrical systems, 480 volts and below
- Troubleshooting of industrial equipment
- Experience with CMMS (limble, SAP, Maintx)

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), prefer Associate Degree in Electro-Mechanical or Journeyman status. Five years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required in a hands on maintenance role. Skills in mechanical repair, plumbing, welding, pneumatics, hydraulics, carpentry and electrical repair to include control wiring, 110 volt, 220 volt, and 480 volt three phase power. Experience with large BTU furnaces needed. Knowledge of 5-S and lean manufacturing. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to communicate professionally with all individuals in the company. Experience with computer programs such as manufacturing package software and Microsoft office. Must have a valid drivers’ license with a good driving record. Knowledge of painting and powder coating systems is a plus.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
