The Assembly Mechanic works in the manufacturing facility as part of an assembly team responsible for building mobile and industrial equipment that is mounted on a truck chassis or trailer. Assembly Mechanics work together with other team members and other trades to assemble the finest industrial and environmental equipment available. This role is suited to a “jack of all trades” with mechanical knowledge as well as some hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
Skills and responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Mechanical ability with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
- Assembling components and sub-assemblies per work instructions and the instructions of the team leader.
- Attention to detail and exhibits great pride in their work.
- Feedback ideas to team leaders and engineering to improve the product, improve efficiency, and reduce scrap and rework.
- Any experience with hydraulics and pneumatics for heavy equipment would be a plus.
- Able to use all hand tools and power tools used in the assembly and manufacturing of heavy equipment.
- Committed to Excellence and enjoys working on a variety of projects and tasks.
- Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
- Willingness to change, flex and learn, self-motivated.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and
- Post-Secondary Education from a Technical School or
- Mechanical ability with 1 to 3 years working in an environment that requires mechanical ability.
