Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, skilled Medical Assistant to join our growing vein-treatment program. You will partner with our physicians to assist in radiofrequency vein ablation and related minimally invasive vascular interventions. Your impact will be felt in the smooth, safe and compassionate care we provide before, during and after each procedure. This is a part-time opportunity at our Old Bridge and Bloomfield locations, perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced procedural environment and brings a “get things done” mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare procedure suites: assemble and organize sterile instruments, supplies and equipment specifically for vein ablation and vascular cases.

  • Assist the physician during radiofrequency vein ablation procedures: maintain aseptic technique, anticipate needs, hand off instruments, operate as an efficient partner in the room.

  • Support patient preparation: explain process (when appropriate), help position and drape patients, ensure their comfort and readiness for treatment.

  • Operate and assist with equipment such as ultrasound systems, RF generators, tumescent infiltration systems — as directed by the physician or senior RN.

  • Monitor inventory of sterile instruments and supplies: ensure restocking, organization, proper labeling and readiness of the procedural environment.

  • Facilitate post-procedure care: assist with dressing application, patient monitoring, clean-up and room turnover so the next case is ready without delay.

  • Adhere strictly to infection control, OSHA and facility safety guidelines — you are the gatekeeper of safety and cleanliness in the suite.

  • Provide compassionate, professional communications: you will interface with patients, families and team members — clarity, empathy and responsiveness matter.

  • Contribute as a team player: collaborate with nurses, physicians, support staff and leadership to continuously improve procedural workflow and patient experience.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.

  • Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) preferred.

  • Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient procedural setting preferred; vascular, interventional or surgical experience is a strong plus.

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

  • Exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, ability to anticipate needs and remain composed in a fast-moving procedural environment.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally assist with lifting equipment or helping patients as needed.

  • Comfortable working within a team, and also able to work independently when needed.

Work Environment

  • Outpatient procedural suite setting within a multidisciplinary orthopedic & vascular care practice.

  • Close interaction with physicians, nurses, medical support staff and patients at various stages of care.

  • Fast-paced, high-volume environment where efficiency, accuracy and teamwork are essential.

  • The physical demands include standing for long periods, assisting with patient movement and handling equipment.

Why Join Alliance Orthopedics?

  • Be part of a mission-driven organization where helping patients live pain-free and active is the top priority.

  • Work in a culture that values collaboration, growth and professional development — you’ll be supported in mastering procedural skills and strengthening your expertise.

  • Join an expanding vein program within a leading orthopedic/multidisciplinary practice — great opportunity to make meaningful impact.

  • Work across dynamic locations (Old Bridge & Bloomfield) offering variety and exposure to state-of-the-art procedures.

Background Check Requirement: Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, which may include verification of employment history, education, criminal records, and other relevant information as permitted by law
