Job Title: Bookkeeper with Sales & Use Tax Expertise
Location: Port St Lucie, FL
About Us:
We are a growing roofing and construction company seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with sales and use tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns with accuracy and timeliness
- Conduct monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Manage intercompany transactions and fixed asset tracking
- Generate financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for leadership
- Serve as the QuickBooks expert – set up charts of accounts, customize reports, and troubleshoot issues.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of bookkeeping experience with proven sales & use tax compliance
- Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop (certification a plus)
- Strong reconciliation skills with a track record of zero discrepancies
- Advanced Excel skills
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent experience)
