Duties
- Develop comprehensive fire sprinkler system designs using advanced CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and NavisWorks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Create detailed schematics and system layouts aligned with industry standards like ASME codes & standards, ensuring optimal performance and code compliance.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to interpret mechanical engineering requirements and translate them into precise system designs and drawings.
- Conduct technical reviews of design schematics, ensuring clarity and completeness for construction teams and contractors.
- Utilize tools like Bluebeam for markup review and document management to streamline project workflows.
- Assist in the integration of mechanical design principles into fire protection systems, applying knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) for complex assemblies.
- Support construction phases by providing technical writing, drafting support, and resolving design issues promptly to keep projects on schedule.
Experience
- Proven experience designing fire sprinkler systems or related mechanical systems within the construction or engineering industry.
- Proficiency in CAD platforms including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, Pro/ENGINEER or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, schematics development, and system layout planning.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards relevant to fire protection systems is highly desirable.
- Experience working on construction projects from concept through completion with a focus on technical accuracy and safety compliance.
- Knowledge of 2D animation for technical presentations or assembly instructions is a plus.
