Position Overview: A Carpenter is responsible for providing instruction to ACS crews and subcontractors that are safely building, remodeling, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, and other items. The Carpenter also ensures ACS safety and quality control measures are met on the jobsite.

This position generally requires 8-10 hours a day. The workweek is Monday-Friday and occasionally on weekends/nights depending on the project. This position is based out of our Denver office, but the incumbent would be required to work on jobsites throughout the greater Denver metropolitan area. In addition, the position sometimes (0-20%) requires travel. This position requires work in the outdoors in all types of weather. It requires walking, standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods, at times in confined spaces. Work occurs on ladders, scaffolds, and other above ground locations. Employees may be exposed to dust, fumes, noise, and unpleasant variation in temperature. Work requires lifting and carrying heavy objects. Some positions require working around chemicals and caustic compound. ACS will provide all necessary personal protective equipment to keep you safe.

- Responsible and accountable for the safety of the crew under their direction.
- Ensure completion of initial safety and hazard assessments (site specific safety plan and pre-task plans).
- Participate in safety/incident investigations.
- Ensure tools, cords and equipment have been properly inspected.
- Communicate job assignments to subcontractors and ACS team members.
- Apply principles of workplace respect on site.
- Ensure crew compliance with project and company policies and procedures.
- Interpret and understand the comprehensive plan set and specifications.
- Accountable for reading, understanding, and following project schedule.
- Ensure crews under their direction perform daily and weekly activities to meet production goals.
- Prioritize work plan and communicate to crew.
- Work with the crew to solve project problems/challenges.
- Ensure completed work meets ACS quality standards.
- Conduct onsite assessment/pre-planning prior to commencing work.
- Oversee the execution of the work, including quality and production, ensuring that the crew meets job specifications and follows plans.
- Read and interpret building plans/drawings/specifications.
- Accurately measure and perform layout according to plans/specs.
- Inspect and measure completed work.
- Document any necessary quality control efforts.
- Prepare reports, including work progress, daily timekeeping, daily reports, incident reports, etc.
- Log and track special inspections.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Should have a valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles
- Should be able to lead the crew
- Effectively communicate (orally and in writing) in English, with good comprehension
- Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Bluebeam Revu & Procore
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- OSHA 10 Hour Certification is preferred (will be required to become OSHA 30 certified)
- Commercial construction safety knowledge/training
