Lab Technician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.1) Comply with all company policies, procedures, and conduct.2) Strictly adhere to confidentiality and compliance standards.3) Receive, label and safely store testing samples using Universal Precautions.4) Record tests and analyses and reporting.5) Organize sample storage in accordance with all safety and FDA requirements.6) Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, including equipment calibrations as needed.7) Maintain equipment records and work logs.8) Remain current on study protocols that require laboratory spec, equipment and supplies. 9) Ensure laboratory supplies remain at established par levels.10) Process and ship lab specimens according to protocols.11) Report issues to management.12) Meet all study protocol requirements and deadlines.13) Other tasks and responsibilities as requested to facilitate business needs.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:1) 2 years experience as a Lab Technician or related position, required.2) 1-2 years experience in phlebotomy with CPT-1, required.3) Proven experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment, including potentially dangerous substances (such as flammable liquids and biohazardous materials).4) In-depth knowledge in preventative precautions and laboratory best practices.5) Excellent physical condition and endurance.6) Able to work comfortably independently or in a team.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:• Maintain IATA certification and other on-the-job certifications as required.• Phlebotomy certification as required by state law.
