Responsibilities
- Equipment Inspection and Documentation: Review assigned medical equipment and verify that all items match the corresponding delivery documentation. Ensure all paperwork is accurate, complete, and properly signed before and after deliveries or pickups. Maintain accurate patient records, delivery logs, oxygen documentation, and inventory records using company systems.
- Delivery, Transportation, and Setup: Safely load, transport, deliver, and install medical equipment in patient homes or healthcare facilities. Ensure all equipment is properly secured during transport and follow proper lifting and safety procedures.
- Route Planning and Time Management: Plan efficient delivery routes while considering traffic, distance, and schedules to ensure timely and professional service in compliance with traffic laws and company policies.
- Patient Education and Customer Service: Demonstrate proper equipment operation and provide instructions to patients, family members, and caregivers regarding safe use, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Maintain a courteous and professional approach when addressing patient concerns.
- Technical Support: Provide basic troubleshooting and minor adjustments to equipment in the field and report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate supervisor.
- Inventory and Equipment Maintenance: Assist with warehouse inventory checks and maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse. Clean, disinfect, inspect, and prepare returned equipment for future dispatch in accordance with company standards.
- Recordkeeping and Reporting: Complete work orders and maintain accurate records of deliveries, serial numbers, locations, and patient signatures. Submit all required documentation at the end of each workday.
- Vehicle and Safety Compliance: Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain the delivery vehicle in a clean and safe condition. Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE while on duty.
- Regulatory Compliance: Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations including HIPAA, FDA guidelines, DOT regulations, and California state laws.
- Team Coordination and On-Call Support: Coordinate with warehouse staff, dispatch, and supervisors to ensure efficient operations and participate in a rotating on-call schedule when required.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned to support operational needs.
Qualifications
License: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (minimum of three years preferred).
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Previous experience in delivery, courier services, healthcare, or Durable Medical Equipment (DME) operations is preferred.
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical or equipment issues.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, move, and transport heavy medical equipment such as oxygen tanks, hospital beds, and other related devices.
