Housekeeper - Residential Location

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Housekeeper for a private residence to maintain a clean, organized, and comfortable home environment. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, demonstrates integrity, respects household privacy, and can work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Home Care

• Daily cleaning with special focus on the basement
• Vacuuming and mopping throughout the home
• Laundry for the entire family (wash, fold, organize)
• Vacuum closets weekly
• Keep bathrooms fully stocked (toilet paper, tissues, supplies)
• Refill plug-in air fresheners weekly
• Change batteries in light fixtures and household devices as needed
• Maintain organization in boys' drawers and closets
• General tidying and organization of all living spaces
  
  

Household Management & Errands

• Grocery shopping and supermarket runs
• UPS, FedEx, and post office errands
• Pick up prescriptions from Walgreens / Duane Reade
• Keep track of household supplies and restock proactively
• Assist with packing and preparation for vacations
• Light coordination and oversight of household needs
  
  

Schedule & Flexibility

• Flexible hours required
• Example hours:
• 2pm to 8pm
• 3pm to 10pm
• 10am to 5pm
• Most hours will start in the afternoon but there will be some day hours
• Some Saturdays and occasional Sundays required
• Must be adaptable to family schedule and occasional change
  

Requirements

• Proven experience in residential housekeeping or a similar role
• Strong attention to detail and high cleaning standards
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Trustworthy, reliable, and respectful of household confidentiality
• Comfortable around children and/or pets
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical cleaning tasks
• Knowledge of cleaning products, safe chemical use, and proper sanitation techniques
• Must have a valid driver's license to run errands
