Currently we are hiring a Loan Officer. As a Loan Officer, you will be responsible for generating new commercial and Mortgage loan customers, servicing an existing portfolio of commercial and Mortgage loans, monitoring loan performance, promoting the bank's products and services, reviewing loan and deposit profitability and risk, and representing the bank in community events/organizations.

Essential Functions:
- Explains to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available, as well as the terms of those services.
- Meets with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and answers questions about the process.
- Obtains and compiles copies of loan applicants’ credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information.
- Analyzes applicants’ financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
- Submits applications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation.
- Reviews loan agreements to ensure they are complete and accurate according to policy.
- Approves loans within specified limits, and refers loan applications outside those limits to management for approval.
- Handles customer complaints and takes appropriate action to resolve them.
- Reviews and updates credit and loan files.
- Negotiates payment arrangements with customers who have delinquent loans.
- Prepares reports to send to customers whose accounts are delinquent, and forwards irreconcilable accounts for collector action.
- Stays abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and markets them to better meet customers’ needs.
- Analyzes potential loan markets and develops referral networks to locate prospects for loans.
- Arranges for maintenance and liquidation of delinquent properties.
- Represents the bank in community events/organizations.
- Performs business development activities to retain business of existing customers and develops new relationships with prospective accounts.
- Participates in continued compliance training for relevant lending and deposit laws and regulations.
- Responsible for understanding and following all internal banking policies and procedures.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or technical school) Preferred. Field of Study: business, finance, or related field.
- One to three years’ experience in commercial/Mortgage lending.
- Knowledge of banking analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Basic Microsoft Office programs preferred
- Technical aptitude to learn and use a variety of specialized financial software.
- Registered with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
- Professional and Ethical when dealing with customers, vendors, community executives, and bank employees
- Possesses proven customer service talents, and has above average oral and written communication skills.
- Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive information and customer data.
