POSITION OVERVIEW
An Inventory Control Specialist maintains records of materials in inventory and on order. They monitor reorder points and initiates action to replenish stock. They reconcile discrepancies in inventory and reports irregularities. They will also oversee the picking and kitting parts from inventory to support manufacturing.
Top 5 Responsibilities
- Inventory management, parts picking, & 6S of the inventory area.
- Own the cycle count process to ensure accuracy.
- Accurate and timely parts pull and inventory transaction.
- Ensure timely delivery of parts to manufacturing.
- Shipping / Receiving support.
- Monitors and maintains current inventory levels; processes releases as required; tracks orders and investigates problems.
- Maintains database, performs physical count of inventory, and reconciles actual stock count to computer-generated reports.
- Receives, unpacks, and delivers goods; re-stocks items as necessary; labels shelves.
- Processes and documents returns as required following established procedures.
- Performs routine clerical duties, including data entry.
- May lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work; may participate in the recruitment of volunteers, as appropriate to the area of operation.
- Implementing and maintain loss prevention programs / processes.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional coursework or certifications related to inventory management, logistics, or supply chain operations is a plus.
- No prior professional experience required; however, any experience in inventory management, assembly, or related fields is advantageous. Internships or volunteer work related to warehouse operations, inventory control, or assembly processes can be beneficial.
- Proficiency in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of basic inventory control principles and practices is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to maintain multiple job releases simultaneously.
- Good verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and documenting processes.
- Demonstrated ability to handle tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and systems as needed.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
