What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Chassis Engineer position at Alli Fabrication LLC?
We're an established high-end architectural metal fabrication and manufacturing company launching a new automotive engineering venture focused on developing next-generation chassis systems that merge precision, performance, and manufacturability.
If you're the kind of engineer who thrives on turning ideas into reality, taking concepts from CAD to prototype and seeing them come to life in real, drivable machines, then this is your opportunity to help build something from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and development of custom chassis systems for restomod, motorsport, and performance applications.
- Use 3D scanning and reverse engineering to capture OEM geometry and integrate modern performance components.
- Model, simulate, and validate chassis structures using SolidWorks, Inventor, and FEA tools (ANSYS, HyperWorks, etc.).
- Optimize suspension geometry for handling, ride quality, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate directly with fabricators, machinists, and suppliers — turning CAD into metal with minimal translation.
- Build, test, and iterate quickly — from CAD to prototype to production.
What We're Looking For
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
- 4 years of experience in chassis or suspension design and analysis.
- Proficiency with 3D scanning, reverse engineering, and CAD modeling.
- Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, load paths, and structural optimization.
- A hands-on, problem-solving mindset — comfortable switching between design, testing, and fabrication discussions.
- Eager to work in a small team where every decision moves the product forward.
Bonus Points
- Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP)
- Experience with HandySCAN, Geomagic Design X, or similar scanning systems
- SAE Vehicle Dynamics or Chassis Tuning coursework or certification
