Job Summary
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Capable of performing all job duties and tasks within assigned department. Including, set up and operation of various assembly machines for the assembly of precision aircraft quality blind fasteners. Able to lead departmental work activities as directed by supervisor. Assists supervisor and displays leadership role in department.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities And Competencies
Reads and interprets documents (drawings, or manufacturing work orders), to ascertain what tools and materials are necessary for manufacturing, processing, packaging and/or shipping products to specification.
Sets up and operates, on a production basis, all assigned assembly machines and their related products. This includes settings and adjustments required to assemble parts to specifications. Selects mounts and aligns tooling attachments and materials in proper order and relationship. Makes all adjustments necessary to assemble parts of acceptable quality.
Monitors production run using measuring devices, such as, comparators, micrometers, calipers and various other inspect gauges.
Conducts performance tests on assembled product to ensure product is within customer and/or company specification requirements.
Reworks and directs reworking of tooling as needed.
Keeps accurate statistical process control records, when required, on each job assembled, making adjustments during production run as the SPC data directs.
Meets and maintains all productivity levels and quality requirements to support departmental goals and schedules.
Performs minor preventative maintenance on assigned machines.
Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.
Assists supervisor in daily operations of department by scheduling work flow, assisting workers, troubleshooting, training or performing other duties as directed.
Loads machines and monitors production run using measuring devices, such as, comparators, micrometers, calipers and various other inspection gauges.
Keeps accurate statistical process control records, when required, on each job manufactured, making adjustments during production run as the SPC data directs.
Provides training to departmental personnel for all aspects of machine set up and operation.
Qualifications

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as, drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Abilities
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Blueprint Reading
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints
Computer Skills
Proficient in applicable computer programs.
Education And/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). A minimum of four (4) years experience in operating various assembly machines; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms, and kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Compensation
In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $20.00 - $29.00
Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
