Role Description This is an on-site, contract Hairstylist role based in New York, NY. The Hairstylist will provide a full range of hair services, including cutting, styling, blowouts, coloring, treatments, and basic hair care guidance tailored to each client’s needs. Day-to-day work includes consulting with clients, recommending styles and services, performing hair services safely and efficiently, and maintaining a clean, organized station. The role also involves managing appointments, building and retaining a personal client base, and contributing to a positive, professional salon atmosphere aligned with ALLEYWAY’s unified brand.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Hair Styling and Hair Care, including cutting, styling, finishing, and product recommendations.
- Formal training or certification in Cosmetology; active New York State cosmetology or hairstyling license required.
- Strong Customer Service skills, with a focus on client satisfaction, professionalism, and repeat business.
- Clear, respectful Communication skills to conduct consultations, explain services, and provide aftercare instructions.
- Experience working in a salon setting or similar environment is preferred.
- Ability to manage time effectively, handle multiple appointments, and work independently as an on-site contractor.
