Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized equipment for transporting hazardous materials and dangerous goods.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries within designated local areas.
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly according to logistics cargo handling standards.
- Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and hazardous materials regulations at all times.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Deliver freight efficiently while adhering to route schedules and maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, delivery documentation, and compliance records for each trip.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving within local areas.
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT safety standards.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle truck loading/unloading tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient delivery schedules.
- Strong manual handling skills for load & unload activities with attention to safety protocols.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance in over-the-road (OTR) routes or local deliveries.
