Bar Staff – Small but Lively Bar
Position Summary:
Bar Staff are the heart of our guest experience—serving drinks, engaging with customers, and keeping the bar running smoothly in a fast-paced, energetic environment. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on busy nights, enjoys multitasking, and can deliver great service with a friendly attitude.
Key Responsibilities: Bartending & Guest Service
- Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Prepare and serve beverages (beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options) according to recipes and standards.
- Recommend drinks, answer menu questions, and provide exceptional service throughout each guest’s visit.
- Monitor guest consumption and ensure responsible alcohol service.
Bar Operations
- Set up and break down the bar before and after shifts.
- Stock and restock beer, liquor, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and supplies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately using the POS system.
- Keep an eye on inventory levels and communicate needs to management.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with fellow bartenders, servers, barbacks, and kitchen staff to ensure efficient service.
- Communicate clearly during busy periods to keep service smooth and timely.
- Assist in training new team members when requested.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Adhere to state laws and bar policies regarding responsible alcohol service.
- Address any guest concerns or unsafe behavior promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
- Previous bartending or customer service experience preferred, but not required for the right personality.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, upbeat attitude.
- Ability to multitask in a high-energy environment.
- Basic knowledge of common cocktails; willingness to learn house recipes.
- Must be 21 and able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for long periods.
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced, lively bar with changing crowd levels.
- Evening and weekend availability required - including Sundays.
- Must be comfortable with noise, high energy, and busy rushes.
