Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Oversee all nursing operations and programs to maintain the highest standards of patient care and regulatory compliance.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate patient care activities to ensure patient needs are met according to professional nursing standards and facility procedures.
- Coordinate activities with other departments, medical staff, and external partners such as ambulance services, referral sources, and other healthcare facilities.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate systems to ensure efficient use of staff, equipment, and other resources.
- Establish, review, and maintain facility standards for nursing care, aligning with accreditation and compliance requirements.
Quality & Compliance
- Lead quality management, utilization review, and discharge planning programs.
- Participate in infection control and quality assurance initiatives.
- Conduct department visits to assess nursing procedures, recommending improvements as needed.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
Staff Management
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate all clinical and nursing staff.
- Manage recruitment, training, and performance appraisals of nursing personnel.
- Oversee staff scheduling and work assignments.
- Provide leadership in staff education, orientation, and professional development.
Patient Care Oversight
- Direct nursing assessments and ensure patient care aligns with physician instructions and facility policies.
- Monitor nursing practices and ensure accurate clinical recordkeeping.
- Investigate and resolve patient care concerns or escalate issues as needed.
- Ensure safe medication administration, maintaining accurate narcotics and supply records.
Strategic & Financial Management
- Develop and monitor departmental budgets to maintain financial targets.
- Recommend acquisition of capital equipment and manage resource allocation.
- Engage in studies to identify process improvements and enhance service delivery.
- Contribute to program development and facility-wide initiatives.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
