- Directing all patient care operations.
- Ensuring compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.
- Leading and developing our clinical team.
- Driving quality, safety, and consistency in hospice services.
This role reports to the Executive Director/Administrator and will serve as Acting Executive Director when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Oversight
- Supervise and support Clinical Supervisors and interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide guidance on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Lead performance evaluations, hiring, and staff development.
- Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and CHAP standards.
- Oversee maintenance of accurate clinical records, reports, and inventory.
- Interpret census and operational indicators to adjust staffing and resources.
- Quality & Education
- Develop and implement orientation, in-service, and continuing education programs (quarterly or more).
- Monitor quality improvement initiatives and ensure safe, effective hospice care delivery.
- Stay up to date on hospice best practices and share with staff.
- Strategic & Financial
- Assist in budget development and administration.
- Contribute to organization-wide goal setting and policy development.
- Promote hospice referrals and represent Alleviate Care in the healthcare community.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in California.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s in hospice or related field preferred.
- Experience:
- At least 3 years of management in hospice or related healthcare (with 1 year in a supervisory/administrative role), OR
- 4 years of hospice/home health/primary care experience (with 1 year supervisory).
- Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff.
- Strong knowledge of business management, governmental regulations, and CHAP standards.
- Licensed driver with reliable, insured automobile.
- Excellent observation, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to market services and collaborate tactfully with partners and the community.
Compensation & Details
- Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 per year.
