Support a busy allergy/immunology clinic as a Certified Medical Assistant, reporting to a physician and providing high-volume patient care during routine outpatient visits as well as injection visits. This role emphasizes patient intake and rooming, procedure assistance (skin testing, spirometry, food and drug challenges), accurate clinical documentation, and compassionate communication with patients of all ages (including pediatrics and geriatrics).
Responsibilities
- Complete patient intake, rooming, and vital signs measurement.
- Document patient information accurately in the EHR.
- Prepare exam rooms and assist with clinical procedures.
- Administer medications in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments as needed
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications
- Provide patient education and clear communication during outpatient visits.
- Support efficient, high-volume patient flow in the specialty clinic.
Required Qualifications
- Medical assisting diploma or certificate.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of medical assisting experience.
- Clinical documentation and electronic health records experience (EPIC experience a plus).
- Proficiency in vital signs measurement and medication administration, including injections.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance.
- Strong patient communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and patient care.
