We are hiring a Full Time Medical Assistant for our Allergy Department.
Primary Function:
- Responsible for rendering professional clinical care to patients within the medical practice, as directed by the physicians.
- Assist in the day-to-day clinical operations of allergy office visits.
Job Responsibilities:
- Document in or EMR system- eClinicalWorks (eCW).
- Perform phlebotomy and laboratory tests as required.
- Perform allergy testing.
- Administer allergy shots.
- Screen clinical telephone calls for providers. May answer patient’s inquiries with respect to medical questions within the limits of medical knowledge. Return phone calls for patient questions. Document patient phone calls in the medical record.
- Ensure that all equipment in the treatment rooms are clean and properly stocked prior to each day.
- Adequate medical knowledge to perform the essential functions of the job, such as: recording accurate patient histories in the medical record, venipuncture, reading clinical instrument gauges, and provide patient education regarding allergy treatment plans.
- Coordinate patient flow.
- May have exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Education / Certification / Licensure Requirements:
- High school education or G.E.D. equivalent- required.
- Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant program- preferred.
- One year prior experience in a medical practice- preferred.
Qualifications:
- Communication skills including: fluent in oral and written English- required.
- Communication skills including: fluent in oral Spanish- preferred.
- Strong computer skills including the ability to send/receive messages, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use our Electronic Medical Records system eCW.
- Hard worker.
- Good with multitasking.
- Able to follow through on assignments.
- Excellent team player.
- Positive attitude.
- Professional appearance and demeanor. Must make a great first impression both in person and on the phone with patients.

- Due to the sensitivity of our allergy patients, we cannot employ anyone who smells of strong odors including smoke, perfume, or cologne.
Uniform:
- Black scrubs. The practice provides a $120 annual scrub reimbursement.
