Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle damage thoroughly and develop effective repair plans using automotive estimating techniques
- Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, sheet metal fabrication, and structural reinforcement using MIG welding, soldering, and welding repair techniques
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive welding equipment to restore vehicle frames and panels accurately
- Conduct auto painting, automotive cosmetic repair, and refinishing to ensure a flawless finish that meets industry standards
- Install automotive parts such as auto glass, bumpers, and trim components with precision and care
- Apply fabrication repair techniques to modify or replace damaged sheet metal or structural components as needed
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding repair progress
Skills
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician in a dealership or collision center environment
- Strong knowledge of automotive structural repair, auto restoration, and sheet metal fabrication techniques
- Skilled in MIG welding, soldering, welding repair, and using automotive welding equipment
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance, parts installation, and auto glass replacement
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and other automotive repair equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs
