Large Field Farm Operator
Allendan Seed Company, established in 1980 grows high quality native prairie grasses and wildflowers for seed production. The company also maintains approximately 3,000 acres of row crops, corn and beans. The row crop position will work in the Large Field Production division of Allendan Seed, responsible for planting and harvesting prairie grasses, wildflowers as well as corn and soybeans.

Job Duties:
· Manage precision agriculture equipment and perform light maintenance on equipment and work around the shop
· Operate farm equipment used to plant, harvest, tillage, nutrient application, and spraying as well as use of onboard computing systems
· Load and unload grain inventory into trucks and deliver grain
· Perform data entry to capture and communicate work completed
· Maintain clean working area in shop, on the farm and in equipment
· Must be able to communicate effectively, and be self-driven
Skills and experience
· 1-2 years of production agricultural experience required
· Willing to work long hours during seasonal periods, including Saturdays.
· Demonstrate a general knowledge of agronomic work practices as well as a willingness to learn and the ability to use the technology in modern farm equipment such as basic tractor technology, GPS and information systems
· Knowledge of mechanical operation of Agricultural equipment, including routine maintenance and repair
· Ability to read and interpret field maps
· Ability to work in varying climates
· Valid driver’s license required and must possess a CDL or be willing to get one
· Possess or be willing to get a pesticide applicator license
· Must pass a background check
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
