Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health status
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to prevent injury to animals and staff
- Administering medication and dressing wounds
- Support in correcting animal behaviors and implement enrichment activities to promote well-being
- Maintain accurate record keeping of animal intake, medical treatments, adoption status, and behavioral notes
- Communicate effectively with visitors and potential adopters about pet care needs and shelter policies
- Assist in micro-chipping pets
Experience
- Previous kennel experience or animal handling experience preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy beneficial
- Experience with dog handling, or animal husbandry is a plus
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures or veterinary assistant roles enhances your ability to succeed
- Strong skills in client communication and education about pet care practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in record keeping

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
