Duties
- Manage day-to-day operations of housing properties, ensuring compliance with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8, Fair Housing regulations, and other relevant laws.
- Oversee leasing processes, including tenant screening, lease signing, rent collection, and move-in/move-out procedures using property management software such as Yardi or OneSite.
- Conduct negotiations with landlords, tenants, service providers, and community agencies to resolve issues and optimize housing opportunities.
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support for residents facing emergencies or personal challenges related to addiction or mental health.
- Ensure adherence to landlord-tenant law by addressing disputes, conducting inspections, and managing eviction processes when necessary.
- Implement social work strategies and motivational interviewing techniques to support residents’ goals for stability and independence.
- Maintain accurate records of occupancy, rent payments, maintenance requests, and compliance documentation; prepare reports for regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in property management or housing operations with a strong understanding of LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing vouchers, and Fair Housing regulations.
- Knowledge of landlord-tenant law and experience negotiating lease agreements or resolving tenancy disputes.
- Familiarity with property management software such as Yardi or OneSite is highly preferred.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention, crisis management, addiction counseling, and social work practices to support residents effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate residents through motivational interviewing techniques.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism while maintaining a positive attitude.
