This Position Will:
- Provide direct care and supervision of clients within the milieu in accordance with the agency treatment program including Agency Behavior Treatment Plan (ABTP), Trauma Informed Care Framework, TCI and Illinois School Code.
- Under direct supervision of Teaching staff, provides assistance in the area of instruction and classroom management to ensure a quality learning environment for the students.
- Under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor, implements individual and group programming on the units during non-school days.
- Positions available at our Lake Villa & Woodstock, Illinois campuses!
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree OR 5 years related experience OR Paraprofessional License
- Demonstrated proficiency in skills for basic math, reading, language arts and other core academic subject areas
- Per DCFS Regulations must be at least 21 years of age
- Compassionate and respectful with interpersonal relationships
- Growth mindset
- Demonstrates flexibility
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Eligible for Paraprofessional License or Substitute Teacher License
On-site training! We offer a 6 month mentor program and initial and on-going training and professional development in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and working in a trauma informed milieu.
Allendale’s Specialized Educational Services Program is designed and dedicated to help students advance their academic skills, build self-confidence and independence, and identify and reach personal goals through an individualized K-12 therapeutic day school program.
