ACCOUNTING CLERK - Allen Turner Automotive

Allen Turner Automotive is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team! This position plays an important role in supporting daily dealership accounting operations, including parts and service transactions, vehicle inventory, billing, and general office duties.

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Previous automotive accounting experience is a plus, but it is not required. We’re willing to train the right candidate!

What You’ll Do

• Close out daily parts and service transactions and prepare deposits and merchant services reports.

• Process new vehicle purchases, including pre-shippers, invoices, and Manufacturer’s Statements of Origin (MSOs).

• Maintain Perma Plate contracts and related documentation.

• Accurately post driver payments and ensure transactions are recorded in a timely manner.

• Cross-train in tag and title processing and provide backup support as needed.

• Assist with billing functions and other accounting responsibilities.

• Monitor office supply inventory and coordinate orders as needed.

• Assist with month-end accounting procedures, reconciliations, and reporting.

• Perform general clerical duties, data entry, and other tasks to support the accounting department.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous accounting or administrative experience preferred.

• Automotive dealership accounting experience is a plus, but not required.

• Experience with dealership management systems (DMS) is helpful.

• Knowledge of vehicle titling and registration processes is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

• Willingness to learn new processes and assist with different accounting functions.

• Ability to handle confidential financial, customer, and employee information professionally.

• Occasional lifting or moving of office supplies and records weighing up to 25 pounds.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background check, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and drug screening.

Technology Used: Automate dealership management software, Microsoft Office, phones, scanners, and copiers.
