Traffic Control Supervisor

The Allen Keller Company, based in Fredericksburg, TX, is offering an opportunity to join a heavy highway road construction company as an Traffic Control Supervisor in Fredericksburg, TX. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Leading and supervising the flagger/laborer crew
• Stop and direct traffic along the roads & highways
• Read and interpret traffic control plan requirements
• Inspect traffic control setups daily
• Direct and redirect crews as project needs change
• Submit crew member time sheets
• Complete daily logs of work performed
• Oversee traffic control setup and maintenance
• Conduct toolbox safety meetings with crew members
• Coordinate activities between road crews
• Enforce safety and company policies.
• Hold crew members accountable to company standards
• Ensure all federal, state, local and company regulations are followed
• Communicate well with Superintendents
• Operate company vehicle and equipment safely
• Switch crew member tasks to assist dirt/paving crews with items such as digging, sweeping, placing barricades & barriers and on occasions, operating equipment when not performing flagging duties.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

• Highschool diploma or equivalent required
• Prior leadership experience preferred
• Prior Traffic Control experience - 2 to 3 years
• Highway Construction experience required - 3 to 5 years
• Knowledge of TXDOT rules and regulations
• Strong ability to work independently

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work standing for prolong periods of time.
• Must be able to work in outdoor conditions (heat, rain, cold, etc.)
• Must be able to lift and/or carry weight up to 50lbs. repeatedly.
• Must be able to push/pull, reach, climbing, and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to use hands constantly while stopping traffic.
