Inventory Control Specialist

Job Description

Job Summary:  The position of Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for organizing and keeping control of the Raw Material inventory.   All raw material will be counted, verified, received, and stored properly.  

Essential Functions: 

1. Receiving Material
   1. Physically count the quantity of material received
   2. Verify received material is correct specification
   3. Enter Received PO information into JobScope within one hour of having material verified
   4. Unload Trucks and load racks/bins
   5. Label all material for each identification
2. Material Issues to Jobs
   1. Disperse Blank Pull Sheets to all floor employees
   2. Daily Collect filled Material Pull Sheets
   3. Enter Correct Material Part Numbers and Quantities into each Job pulled on previous day
3. Work with Buyer/Planner to organize Raw Material Inventory
   1. Notify and release all buyouts received
   2. Verify material purchase requests are indeed needed
   3. Daily and Weekly inventory counts on Fast moving or High Dollar Items.
   4. Monthly Cycle count
   5. Return all defective Raw Material to supplier/distributor
4. Verify Stock, WIP and Finished Goods Quantities
   1. Work with Shipping to track and verify Current Stock and Finished Goods
5. Facilitate Returned Product
   1. Track returned product either as RTS or Customer Owned Inventory
   2. Store product properly for safe keeping
6. Operate some or all the following tools in a safe manner according to OSHA and Company guidelines:
   1. Forklift
   2. Pallet Jack
   3. Nail Gun
   4. Staple Gun
   5. Variety of hand tools
7. Follow the rules and regulations related to the safety of all employees working for the Company
   1. Adherence to all mandated safety procedures including driving policy, production area safety requirements and fire safety
   2. Safety requires all employees to review materials provided by the Company related to any updates on safety procedures
   3. Informs management of any safety related issues
8. Ensures safety of self and others through proper use and care of equipment/work area
   1. Handles and operates all equipment in a careful and safe manner
   2. Maintains tools and equipment in good working order and stores them properly
   3. Keeps all work areas neat and clear of potential hazards
9. Other duties as assigned

Work Environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment can be loud.  The use of hearing protection and safety eyewear is required. The use of additional specific safety equipment may be required.

1. Standing.  
2. Walking.  Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
3. Fingering.  Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers.
4. Grasping.  Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
5. Talking.  Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
6. Hearing.  Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.  Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
7. Light work.  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  
8. Visual Acuity.  To perform close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; and visual inspection.
9. Reaching: Extending hands and arms in all direction
10. Forward bending, squatting, overhead reaching, kneeling/crawling, and climbing
11. Continuous standing
12. Lifting: Up to 70 lbs and team lifting up to 100 lbs
13. Carry and use 5 lb to 10 lb power tools or paint containers very frequently
14. Pushing and pulling
15. Moderate level of hand to eye coordination and dexterity including picking, pinching, holding, grasping and repetitive flexion/rotation

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:   This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position with overtime as required.  Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:  No travel required.

Educational Requirements:

1. Highschool diploma or GED

Preferred Educational Requirements:

1. Technical school training or certification

Knowledge Requirements:

1. Experience and ability to use hand tools, including a hand sander
2. Forklift certificate
3. Operate electric and pneumatic tools
4. General construction methods
5. Hand tools
6. Overhead crane certification
7. OSHA general industry standards
