Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise groups of children during daily camp activities while ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities including sports, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, team-building exercises, games, and creative projects.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive camp environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, character development, and personal growth.
- Implement effective behavior management and classroom management strategies to promote respectful interactions and active participation.
- Support children with varying abilities and needs by adapting activities and providing appropriate assistance when necessary.
- Administer basic first aid and respond appropriately to minor injuries or health concerns following camp procedures.
- Assist with daily camp setup, cleanup, and organization of materials and equipment.
- Communicate professionally with camp leadership, fellow staff members, and parents regarding camper progress, behavior, and camp updates.
- Follow all camp policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous experience working with children in a camp, daycare, preschool, tutoring, babysitting, recreation, or educational setting is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and high energy level in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of child development, behavior management, and group supervision is highly desirable.
- Experience working with children with special needs is a plus.
- Passion for creating meaningful and memorable experiences for children.
Requirements
Candidates must:
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Have or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Complete Mandated Reporter Training.
- Be available to work the full camp schedule.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
