Certified Nurse Practitioner (Reproductive Health)

Contracted Part-Time Certified Nurse Practitioner

$70 per hour

6.5 - 7.5 hours weekly

This position is contracted and grant-funded by the Ohio Department of Health under Title X. The Certified Nurse Practitioner works under the supervision of the Medical Director in Allen County Public Health’s Reproductive Health & Wellness Clinic. The scope of practice will include gynecology, sexual health for men and women, post-partum care, and contraceptive services.

Examples of Job Responsibilities:

· Maintains a Standard Care Agreement and completes the duties and responsibilities with the Board’s Medical Director, including monthly chart reviews, phone consultations as needed, and biannual face-to-face meetings

· Obtains medical histories of patients regarding family, personal, social, and current health

· Performs physical examinations of patients focusing on reproductive health

· Performs or orders health screenings and diagnostic tests in accordance with clinical guidelines

· Prescribes medications in accordance with rules established by the Ohio Board of Nursing and maintains Prescriptive Authority through the Ohio Board of Nursing

· Performs insertion of long-acting reversible contraception devices

• Diagnoses and treats selected health problems within the scope of a specialized practice based upon history of present illness, physical exam findings, and lab results
• Refers patients to physicians, other health care professionals, and supportive and social services as appropriate
• Records medical information in electronic medical record; completes forms necessary for patient care, follow-up, and disease control
• Counsels and/or instructs patients regarding disease treatment, care, and prevention

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of a valid and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license from the Ohio Board of Nursing to practice nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (APRN-CNS), Certified Nurse-Midwife (APRN-CNM), OR Certified Nurse Practitioner (APRN-CNP).
