Quality Technician

The Quality Technician provides support to quality, production and engineering departments to ensure effective operation of production and quality systems. Collects, analyzes and reports data to improve product quality and process efficiency. Perform root cause and corrective action on supplier, internal and customer issues to drive improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordination of non-conforming material (NMR) including parts segregation, engineering disposition, rework instructions and scrap process. Maintaining nonconformance database and ensuring it is kept up to date. Collection of key process indicator (KPIs) data and ensuring timely communication to quality leadership. Assist quality team with creation and execution of first article inspections to AS9102 standard. Interfacing with suppliers on potential product nonconformances including issuing of corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Monitoring supplier performance trends and distribution of monthly Scorecards. Maintain Approved Vendor List (AVL) including monitoring of supplier quality management system certifications. Serve as Quality assurance resource to department supervisor(s) for internal and supplier problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvements, Support Quality Engineers with APQP / PPAP process through the development of PFMEA’s, Control Plans, Capability Studies and MSA. Interpret drawings and specifications. Proficient with basic measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gage, indicator) Coordinate as required with internal groups including engineering, production / assembly, metal finishing and machine shop personnel.
