Now Hiring: Full-Time Senior Maintenance Technician
Location: Allegria Village – Dearborn, MI
Schedule: Day Shift
Pay: $20-22/hour based on experience
Allegria Village is a senior living community located in Dearborn, offering apartment-style Independent Living. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and self-directed Full-Time Senior Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced maintenance professional with a strong technical background, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, safety, and resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently complete and prioritize maintenance work orders in a timely and efficient manner
Diagnose and resolve complex maintenance issues with minimal supervision
Perform advanced general maintenance tasks including:
Repairing wall and floor coverings
Fixing furniture and fixtures
Plumbing and electrical troubleshooting and repair
Painting, refurbishing, and appliance repair
HVAC diagnostics, troubleshooting, and minor repairs
Building and equipment repairs
Take a lead role in troubleshooting and maintaining building systems, including HVAC, domestic water systems, pumps, refrigeration systems, motors, fans, and emergency generators
Monitor and maintain tools, supplies, and parts inventory; recommend replacements and improvements as needed
Perform and support routine and preventive maintenance programs
Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety policies, including PPE, Lockout/Tagout, MSDS, and fire safety procedures
Serve as a resource and mentor to junior maintenance staff as needed
Maintain professional and respectful interactions with residents, ensuring confidentiality at all times
Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3–5 years of general maintenance experience required
Strong HVAC experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage workload without direct supervision
Advanced knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and fire safety compliance
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
Team-oriented mindset with strong customer service skills
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED required
Relevant certifications (HVAC, electrical, or mechanical) preferred
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Regular walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, crawling, reaching, and climbing required
Frequent kneeling and squatting
Ability to work in a physically active environment
Additional Information:
Participation in on-call rotation is required
Employment is contingent on a background check
Rate of pay is dependent on experience
