Allegria Village is a senior-living community in Dearborn that encompasses 35 acres and consists of: Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing, all on one campus.
This position is a dual role, meaning that you would be assisting with groundskeeping, but also available to help with maintenance tasks as well.
Key responsibilities:
Grounds Maintenance: trimming hedges, shrubs, weeding and watering plants. Conducting daily rounds to make sure the grounds are looking up to par. Daily trash removal.
Building Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC and carpentry repairs, ensuring the safety and functionality of building systems.
Collaboration: Assisting other maintenance personnel and communicating with contractors when needed.
Skills needed:
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks like lifting, bending and kneeling.
- Identifying and resolving issues related to grounds maintenance and building systems
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and potentially with residents
- Prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to complete work within deadlines.
Job requirements:
- Must have high school diploma or GED
- Must have a valid driver's license and have the ability to safely operate a company landscaping truck.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
- Prior work experience (1-year) of either groundskeeping or maintenance, or both.
