Day-to-day tasks include conducting title searches, analyzing chains of title, reviewing deeds and related instruments, and preparing clear and accurate title opinions. Qualifications
- Strong title examination skills, including conducting Title Searches and analyzing Chain of Title.
- Ability to review and interpret Deeds, legal descriptions, and related recorded documents.
- Experience preparing clear, accurate Title Opinions and identifying title defects and curative requirements.
- Familiarity with Escrow and closing processes and coordination with underwriting and settlement teams.
- Knowledge of real estate and title industry practices, applicable state and federal regulations, and recording requirements.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines.
- Proficiency with title production systems, document management tools, and standard office software.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience as a title examiner, abstractor, or related real estate/title role; national title experience is preferred.
- Relevant education or training in real estate, paralegal studies, or a related field is beneficial.
