Hospice volunteers provide compassionate presence and meaningful support to patients and families facing serious illness. Volunteers are an essential part of our interdisciplinary hospice team, offering companionship, dignity, and comfort during one of life’s most important seasons.

This role is ideal for individuals who are empathetic, reliable, and seeking purpose-driven service that makes a direct human impact.

What You’ll Do

Depending on your interests and availability, hospice volunteers may

  • Offer companionship through conversation, reading, music, or quiet presence
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families
  • Assist with non-clinical tasks such as letter writing, memory projects, or legacy activities
  • Support caregivers by giving them brief periods of respite
  • Participate in special programs (veteran support, pet therapy coordination, administrative support, or bereavement outreach)

No medical or hands-on care is required.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Compassionate, patient, and emotionally grounded individuals
  • Strong listeners who respect diverse values, cultures, and beliefs
  • Dependable volunteers who can maintain confidentiality
  • Adults 18 (background check required)
  • No prior hospice or healthcare experience needed

Training & Support

We provide comprehensive hospice volunteer training, ongoing education, and continuous support from our professional care team. Volunteers are never placed in situations beyond their comfort level.
