As the Director, Financing and Insurance (F&I), leads and oversees the finance and insurance operations across multiple dealerships. This role is responsible for maximizing departmental profitability, ensuring compliance, coaching F&I Regional managers and optimizing relationships with lenders, insurance providers and OEM Finance arms.

As the Director, Financing and Insurance (F&I), leads and oversees the finance and insurance operations across multiple dealerships. This role is responsible for maximizing departmental profitability, ensuring compliance, coaching F&I Regional managers and optimizing relationships with lenders, insurance providers and OEM Finance arms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement F&I strategies, policies and processes that scale across all dealerships
- Set performance targets for Regional F&I Managers (penetration rates, profit per unit, product mix, etc.)
- Monitor and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual F&I performance metrics and KPI’s
- Recommend and drive best practices, process standardization and continuous improvements
- Ensure accurate and timely deal paperwork disclosures, and assignment of contracts
- Collaborate with sales and Controllers to integrate F&I processes smoothly into sales workflow
- Partner with OEM’s, lenders, and insurance providers to maintain competitive programs
- Analyze profitability, finance reserve performance, and warranty income
- Recruit, mentor and coach Regional F&I Managers on sales techniques, compliance and product presentation
- Develop training materials, scripts and role plays for product presentation, objection handling, compliance and sales techniques
- Standardize best practices across both Operating Companies for consistent customer experience
- Maintain high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) by integrating transparent and efficient F&I processes
- Support Sales teams to increase conversion rates without compromising compliance
- Audit deal files and financial records for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to internal and external standards
- Enforce strict compliance with federal and state regulations (Truth in Lending Act, Red Flags, etc.)
- Lead remediation, corrective measures, and process redesign in response to compliance issues
- Manage relationships with OEM finance arms, banks, credit unions, insurers, and third-party providers (service contracts, GAP, extended warranties, etc.)
- Negotiate terms, incentive programs and volume bonuses with partners
- Develop departmental budgets, and revenue forecasts
- Monitor expense control, resource allocation, and cost of operations
- Education: BS in Business Administration, Finance, Sales or a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years’ of F&I experience including multi-store oversight
- Leadership role in Finance, customer success, account management, or a related role within the trucking or automotive industry
- Prior experience supervising multiple F&I Managers and multi dealership responsibility
- Proven record of compliance leadership and profit improvement
- Excellent relationships and reputation with lenders, insurance carriers and OEM finance departments
- High ethical integrity, customer centric mindset an attention to detail
- Ability to travel across all locations
- AFIP or equivalent F&I certification
- Resourceful and proactive approach to identifying issues and driving effective, timely resolutions.
