The Production Supervisor will lead a 10–12 person team of machine operators in a custom manufacturing environment specializing in sealing solutions and material converting.

This role requires a hands-on manufacturing leader with direct experience supervising die cutting, laminating, slitting, CNC/dieless cutting, and short-run, high-mix production. The supervisor is expected to be on the floor daily, supporting machine setups, troubleshooting, quality checks, and production flow.

Manufacturing & Production Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production of custom die-cut and converted components including gaskets, seals, foams, rubbers, films, and composite materials.
• Execute production schedules in a job-shop manufacturing environment with short runs, frequent changeovers, R&D jobs, PPAPs, and expedites.
• Work directly with operators on machine setups, tool changes, material changeovers, and process troubleshooting.
• Perform job audits to ensure print accuracy, material verification, dimensional quality, and adherence to work instructions.
• Monitor efficiencies, scrap, and downtime; identify and implement process improvements.
• Communicate job status, overruns, material usage, and production constraints to the Manufacturing Manager.
• Assist with machine operation when required to maintain throughput and meet customer deadlines.

Quality, Materials & Equipment

• Ensure all manufactured parts meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Coordinate with material handlers to ensure availability of raw materials, laminates, substrates, adhesives, and packaging.
• Maintain accurate WIP control and ensure proper return of unused materials to stock.
• Collaborate with maintenance to ensure die-cutting equipment, laminators, slitters, CNC machines, tooling, cutting boards, and plates are prepared and maintained.
• Support routine PMs and equipment readiness for production.

People Leadership (Manufacturing Floor)

• Lead from the floor with a strong, visible presence in the manufacturing area.
• Train and develop machine operators on process discipline, setup accuracy, safety, and quality expectations.
• Hold operators accountable for machine use, documentation, quality, efficiency, and on-time completion.
• Coach, counsel, and discipline employees in a consistent and professional manner.
• Promote cross-training to support flexible manufacturing capacity.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience supervising machine operators in converted materials, gasket, seal, or die-cut manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of die cutting, laminating, slitting, CNC/dieless cutting, or similar converting processes.
• Ability to manage high-mix / low-volume production with frequent changeovers.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Comfortable working around industrial machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
