What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance position at Allegheny Center Alliance Church?
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for working closely with operations coordinator, who gathers, sorts, and prioritizes all building improvements and maintenance work orders from the ministries. Works off the task list for assignments.
- Completes daily/routine repairs, maintenance and building improvements of ACAC campus equipment and buildings.
- Communicates with operations coordinator regarding the progress of assigned tasks.
- Responsible for vehicle maintenance and repair needs.
- Reports any repairs, problems, etc. that are discovered/observed to the operations coordinator.
- Coordinates service providers for any repair needs.
- Conducts daily building walk-through check when you are responsible for opening the building.
- Assist with keeping the campus safe by handling potentially unsafe security-related situations and ensuring construction safety standards are met.
- Keep workshop, maintenance, and warehouse areas clean and organized.
- Respond to any emergency needs of the church: custodial, maintenance, medical, security, etc.
- Assist with campus snow removal. Able to operate the snow removal equipment. Keep salt & fuel supplied.
- Adhere to all safety procedures.
- Able to work outside in all seasons.
- Drive church vehicles when necessary.
- Assist in other support staff departments as directed by supervisor to embrace collaborative work culture.
- Shall be in agreement with biblical principles and be able to operate under Allegheny Center Alliance Church’s statement of faith, values, and mission.
- Must be a person of high integrity, a strong work ethic, dependable, responsible, and self-motivated.
- Highly organized and energetic with ability to work interdepartmentally and independently.
- Have keen sense of project management, able to multi-task effectively.
- Good understanding of the importance of community and relationship building.
- Handle confidential situations and maintain confidentiality.
- Verbal communication:
- Talking (expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word) and hearing (perceiving the nature of sounds) are required.
- Utilize sight on the job:
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items over 40 lbs.
- Must be able to work outside in all temperatures/climates as necessary.
